China Kitchen Restaurant
I’ve been craving Chinese food for quite sometime. I liked P.F Changs, but then its not really an affordable option for frequent visits. We heard about this place called ‘China Kitchen‘ in Ras Salmiya, close to the Mowasat Hospital, and we could not wait to try out the place. We were really hungry that day and since it is located in one of the side lanes it was a bit of challenge to find the restaurant. We were pleased with the welcome at the restaurant. The waiters were quite friendly and most importantly they were familiar with the (menu) dishes served. I like the fact that the menu is not too elaborate and confusing. It was structured quite well. We could first choose if we wanted chicken, beef, fish etc and then decide which sauce we wanted it cooked in. We had ordered;
a. Shanghai Fried Rice – Kd 1.750
b. Beef in Mongolian Sauce – Kd 2.750
c. Beef in Black Pepper Sauce – Kd 2.750
d. Large Bottle of Water – Kd 0.400
They served fried shrimp crackers as we waited about 20 min. for the order to be served. The quantity was pretty good. The beef ‘chunks’ unlike my experience in many oriental places, was soft, juicy and full of flavor. I liked both the dishes equally. This order would easily be good for 3 adults (2 males and 1 female, considering that women eat less as compared with men). We had some leftover to take away, which I had the next day. It was equally yummy!.
