Rib Eye Review
Recently we and some friends of ours decided to have lunch at the Rib Eye in Holiday Inn Salmiya. It was the first time for us, but our friends had been there once before. It had been a while since I’ve had some finger licking good BBQ ribs and was looking forward to it. We arrived at the restaurant around 2 pm. There was no hostess at the front so we kind of made our way towards a table when a waitress approached and seated us. We noticed that there was only one other table that was occupied by a group, but eventually the restaurant started to fill up.
We looked through the menu and my eyes immediately fell on the Rib Eye BBQ ribs, but to my great disappointment the ribs were not available. So finally we ordered the Chicken Quesadillas (KD 3.500) for starters and for the main course we got Dynamite sliders (KD 3.250), Rib Eye Signature Burger (KD 4.450), Seafood Medley (KD 5.950), Great Catch (grilled hammour) (KD 5.250), Lemonade (KD 1.200).
The order took about 25 minutes to come, which was quite a wait. Regardless, the Chicken Quesadillas came and we said ‘guess it was worth the wait’ and I have to add that it did bring a smile to our faces. Then came all the main course and frankly their ‘signature’ burger was a disappointment. The meat had absolutely no flavor. The Grilled Hammour was not moist. In fact it was tough and chewy (felt over cooked). The Dynamite Sliders were alright, so was the Seafood Medley. The Lemonade was very sour and tasted more like a concentrate.
Ratings – Ambiance – 7/10, Service – 7/10, Menu – 7/10, Food – 5/10, Consistency – Value for Money – 4/10
Overall – Wouldn’t go back again. No one at our table was pleased with the food served, other than the chicken quesadillas.
